Subscription Mgt - How to create a Salesperson?

Hi,

In this post, I will cover the main steps to create a salesperson. Once salesperson is created, you can use it for Sales Credits in Subscription Mgt and also Enterprise Contracts.

Reference Data Set

If you cannot see any reference data set in Set LOV under salesperson tab in Manage Resources task,

you can try the following steps -

1. In Security Console, create a copy role from standard job role (e.g. Accounts Receivables Manager)
2. In FSP, add 'Manage Trading Community Resource Sales Representative Information'
3. In DSP, add policy
  • Name: Grant on SetId for Resources
  • Database Resource: SetID Set
  • Data Set: All values
  • Actions: Manage Trading Community Salesperson Setup; View Trading Community Salesperson Setup
4. Verify Role Copy status is Complete
5. Setup & Maintenance -> Manage Business Unit Data Access for Users. Add reference data set to the custom role
6. Search for the User that will be assigning the reference set. Not the user of the salesperson.
7. Search for the Role, which will be the custom role that you created.
8. Select Security Context from the LOV. 'Reference Data Set' in this case.
9. Security Context Value would be the Reference Data Set.
10. Save and Close.
11. Go to scheduled process and run "Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes". Then wait for the ESS job to complete.
12. Logout and Login again.
13. Reference Data Sets should appear now under Salesperson Tab in Manage Resources.

Manage Resources

Now we are ready to add salesperson to the resource user with these steps -

1. Setup & Maintenance -> Manage Resources
2. In the Search region of Manage resource page, in Resource Name field enter the Person name and search
3. In the Resource page that appears, navigate to the Roles tab.
4. In the Role Name field, assign the user a role of Salesperson or Sales Manager.
5. If necessary, update the From Date and To Date fields.
6. Navigate to the Salesperson tab.
7. In the Set field, assign a reference set to the salesperson. Note - the reference set must be assigned at the business unit level.
8. Complete the remaining fields and save.

Done!

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Adam Liu
