CX Sales & B2B Service - How to setup SFTP Server for BI Publisher

Hi,

This post provides the guidelines on how to set up SFTP server for BI Publisher in CX Sales. You may find it useful if you have use cases like below,

• Retrieve the updated records in batch to SFTP where Eloqua can consume with Scheduled Import feature
• Retrieve the updated records in batch to SFTP where Data Warehouse can consume

Here are the details -

1. Generate SFTP private key and import the key to BIP. 

• Login to /xmlpserver
• Click on Administration link
• Under System Maintenance header, click on Upload Center
• Select the File Type (Font, SSL Certifcates, etc...)
• Click on Browser button to locate the file
• Then click on Upload

Note - Currently, BI Publisher supports only 'DES-EDE3-CBC' key encryption. Please read MOS doc (Doc ID 2342872.1) about how to generate private key with ssh-keygen.

2. Setup SFTP Server

• Login to /xmlpserver
• Click on Administration link
• Under Delivery header, click on FTP
• Click Add Server
• Enter the following information 
• Server Name: name this connection something of your choosing.
• Server Name: Server Description
• Host: Use either the IP address or server name.
• Port: Use the port number associated with this server
• Use Secure FTP: Must be checked.
• Authentication Type: Private Key
• Private Key File: Use file uploaded above
• Username: Your username
• Password: Passphrase for private key generation

3. Test Connection

• Login to /xmlpserver
• Click on Administration link
• Under Delivery header, click on FTP
• Click on Server Name link
• Click Test Connection button

Note - If you see the following error for connection test, please check MOS Doc (Doc ID 2538902.1) about how to fix it.
